Main Street Campaigns announces its effort to fix the Illinois legislature!

Anyone watching the political chaos of the last few months and years knows that government does not work for Illinois voters.  So, through our PUTBACK CAMPAIGN designed to empower citizens, we are challenging the status quo and opening the process for everyone to get involved.  We are putting an amendment on the ballot for 2010 and then working to pass it in order to make Illinois politics serve Illinois voters.  This is just the beginning.  We are presently forging consensus and compromise but, for now, it is time to stand up for honest public service.

What we need: We need people willing to collect signatures.

What you can do: Email info@mainstreetcampaigns.org to tell us that you are interested in helping us fight for reform.

What we will achieve: This is not a red and blue issue.  We are building a movement that if successful will make a greater government for democracy, not necessarily for liberalism or conservatism.  We need to build an honest system so that good ideas and public servants of all stripes can thrive, and this is the beginning of that mission.
