Time for Citizen Action-Main Street Campaigns

On February 2nd Illinois witnessed near historic lows in voter participation across the state.  This in part happened because the political establishment, instead of appealing to voters, took to the airwaves in a high-priced war of words.

This lack of accountability shows a void in leadership throughout the political class.

If politicians care more about fighting amongst themselves than working for the people of Illinois, then a change must come.

We are that change!

Main Street Campaigns is attempting to stand up where leaders don’t by encouraging grassroots leadership and initiative.

We have laid out a whole agenda but right now we are focused on reforming government so that it puts the needs and concerns of everyday people over special interests.  We are gathering signatures for the Put Back Amendment to do just that and it calls for a whole host of reforms.  The question for leaders is not why they should be for this but how can they stand against it, because this is a pro-citizen initiative!

You can join this new era of leadership by becoming a Block Leader and standing up for the issues that you and your community care about by:

  • Rallying your neighborhoods for reform
  • Informing them about the ways in which we are making better on our pledge to put their needs over special interest
  • Field questions on how the public can make our public institutions more accountable, transparent and productive

Come join us and help push the ideas of Main Street into the halls of power!
